Super Sliders!


Three burgers each with very different tastes, from the classic to the spicy tex-mex these burgers will make you come back for more and more!

The secret to a great burgers lies in the meat, we went out and bought 2lbs of sirloin steak and asked the butcher to grind into mince meat.

There were four of us and we wanted one of the different burgers each so firstly we split the meat down into three equal portions. Here are the ingredients for each of the burgers.

Chop (finely) a large onion and divide it into three portions.

Classic Burger

  • 1 heaped teaspoon Classic steak seasoning (there are many varieties available) we used McCormick's Montreal
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/3 of the onion
  • 1/3 of the sirloin steak

Tex Mex Burger

  • 1 heaped teaspoon of Chipotle Chili Powder (use less if you don't like is hot as this is pretty spicy stuff)
  • 1/4 cup of Beer (whatever you have to hand!)
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of Sweet Smoked Paprika
  • 1 clove of Garlic grated
  • 1/3 of the onion
  • 1/3 of the sirloin steak
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of Steak Seasoning

Eastern Spice Burger

  • 1 heaped teaspoon of Ground Cumin
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of Garam Masala
  • 1 heaped teaspoon of Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 clove of Garlic grated
  • 1/4 cup of Beer
  • 1/3 of the onion
  • 1/3 of the sirloin steak

For each burger get your sleaves rolled up and mix the ingredients together and then divide into 4 pattys, so you end up with 12 burgers. Pop them in the refridgerator for an hour to firm up.

Heat your pan or skillet with a drop of oil and cook for 3 minutes either side and then transfer to the 10 minutes in a tray covered with foil (oven should be 180ºc/350ºf).

2 minutes before they are ready add cheese squares.

Serve with onion rings and chunky fries.
